Nouvelle Zélande: mon itinéraire / My itinerary in New Zealand

– Havelock, Wakamarina, Marlborough Sounds, campagne, fjords: 1 nuit
– Franz Josef Glacier: 1 nuit
– Lake Hawea, proche Wanaka: 1 nuit
– Lake Wanaka, rando Roy’s peak, Glendu Bay Lakeside camping: 1 nuit
– Arrowtown, proche Queenstown, ville western: 1 nuit
– Glenorchy, lac Wakatipu, proche Queenstown: 1 nuit
– Ashburton, route vers Christchurch: 1 nuit

Ile du Nord:
– Auckland, ville, port, ile de Waiheke: 3 nuits

Au total, 3 943km parcourus en campervan.

Mes photos de Nouvelle Zélande

I spent 26 days in New Zealand with Rémi (my friend from Paris who met me in New Caledonia).
Of course, we have not seen “everything” because the country is quite big. I feel like 2 months in Kiwi Land would have enabled us to discover most parts. But I’m not complaining as we got a very good glimpse of both islands. Here is our itinerary we did with our campervan (we played it by ear and stopped whenever we felt like it)

Northland:
– Orewa, seaside, North of Auckland: 1 night
– Paihia, Bay of Islands: seaside, quietness: 1 night
– Waipoua Forest, North West: river, forest, no one else: 1 night
– Warkworth: forest, close to a main road: 1 night
– Waikite Valley, close to Rotorua, natural pools: 1 night
– Tongariro National Park: volcano, Alpine Crossing hiking, evening with Catherine and Jean-Michel (Montreal) and Léa (Strasbourg): 2 nights
– Wellington: capital city (I thought it was Auckland), great restaurants, Te Papa museum: 2 nights

Southland:
– Havelock, Wakamarina, Marlborough Sounds, countryside, fjords: 1 night
– Mapua: seaside, opposite Rabbit’s island, nudist campsite (but it was very very cold so, no need to follow the rules): 1 night
– Marahau: seaside, ducks, Abel Tasman Park, rain, mosquitoes and sandflies: 1 night
– Westport: beach, seals, seaside walks, shooting stars: 2 nights
– Punakaiki: great river hike, Pancake Rocks : 1 night
– Franz Josef Glacier: 1 night
– Lake Hawea, close to Wanaka: 1 night
– Lake Wanaka, Roy’s peak hike, Glendu Bay Lakeside campsite: 1 night
– Arrowtown, close to Queenstown, goldrush city: 1 nuit
– Glenorchy, lake Wakatipu, close to Queenstown: 1 night
– Roxburgh, river, countryside: 1 night
– Dunedin, Otago Peninsula, great restaurants, evening with Lisa: 1 night
– Ashburton, on the way to Christchurch: 1 night

Northland:
– Auckland, major city, harbour district, Waiheke island: 3 nights

In total, we drove 3,943km with the campervan.
